Remarks
La Garriga (named for the densecover of mediterranean herbs, wild flower and shrubs that cover the land) sits on the Southern slopes of els Cargols in the mountains of Tivissa. Nestled into the hill surrounded by olive groves (in production) flanked by two areas of pine forest. The land climbs several terraces up to a level with spectacular views of the Ebro Valley.
The upper terraces are of untended almond.The house is small but surprisingly spacious with a bathroom, kitchen and dining area along the eastern side of the house. Two bedrooms that can both accommodate a double bed and some storage each ( the smaller currentlyu sed as a day bed room for reading andand relaxing.) Set to the rear and front of the lounge on the western side of the house. The original stone almacen with high ceilings and stone walls makes a spacious lounge. Both lounge and kitchen have wood burning stoves for heating. Power is supplied by a basic solar system for lighting the water pump phones laptops etc. There's plenty of scope for expansion.
The bathroom has a shower, all water powered by a 12v pump. Water is collected and stored in a 4500l cisterna plus 4x 1000ltr free standing cubos, there is no mains water. There's scope for free standing water storage upto 20000 l that could collect water from 70sqm of concreted terraces around the house and the roof terrace.
The roof terrace is the perfect place to relax and dine , a small area is roofd the rest is open and is wonderful when hung with summer shades for the long summer evenings.
There's ample parking space to the side of the house with a well draining track leading to the un mettled road that leads to either the C12 or Tivissa, following the old Camino de Compostela . A car with good road clearance recommended.
The closest neighbours about 1km in either direction tthe unique location make it a haven for those choosing to escape the urban environment but not so secluded that popping to the village or supermarket becomes dificult. 5km to Ginestar, approx 11km to Mora D’ebre, 35mins to the coast, 45mins to Reus airport. 60mins to Reus o Tarragona
Wild life, bird life are plentiful ( unique part of the UNESCO biosphere has been developed to protect bird population which include the
rare Bonelli eagles that nest in the cliff face above the finca). This is a protected natural park, it's a great privilege to have a home
here , the night skies are incredible
